For many small communities, accessibility means affordability. Fees need to be kept low. As a result, the honorarium communities pay covers only 19% of the cost to research and solicit new places to play, and to transport our artists to those communities.
To make up most of the difference The Piano Six Foundation relies on charitable contributions generously donated by individuals, foundations and corporations.
From 1993-2003, Piano Six artists made over 60 tours, reaching well over 100,000 children and adults from coast to coast to coast. In the past three seasons, Piano Plus has added 42 visits to our touring history, with 24 of those communities being new to our program.

You can direct your contribution to support a specific artist or artists. Choose from pianists, instrumentalists and vocalists – they are all the best that Canada has to offer!
Geography - Where your heart leads us
Is your heart in the Maritimes? Would you like to ensure that Nunavut has access to our artists? Can you imagine the sounds of music across the Prairies? You can choose to support activity in a particular region in which we have designated travel for the upcoming seasons. Lists are available upon request.

Piano Plus musicians are treated like rock stars! They often sign autographs until their hands cramp. They hug children who have no words to express the new feelings inspired by the experience of their live performances. Your contribution can help change a child's life.
Exploring new territories
Help us discover new frontiers in small places across this vast country. 68 people drove through torrential rain in Liverpool, NS to hear Janina Fialkowska play. In Squamish, BC, four Piano Six artists performed fundraisers over a 10-year period, and helped finance a new concert hall. Who knew that in Manyberries, Alberta, parents would take time off to share our concert with the 24 students in the local school?
There are hundreds more places like these, where Piano Plus artists and the music they make will change the way people think and feel, even for a couple of hours. Your financial support will give us the means to spend time researching, calling and writing to potential new presenters across Canada.
Movers and Shakers
Did you know that a cello needs to purchase its own seat on an airplane? That it takes two men to move a Clavinova, and on Manitoulin Island they moved it three times a day for two days, just to keep up with Jon Kimura Parker? Your financial support can make the moving smooth and easy.
